15 minute Craft planner
You will need:
Paper judges template (see Printables)
Colouring pencils and/or felt-tips
Swords, shields and helmets (see Printables)
Small magnets (optional)
How to prepare:
Print or photocopy sufficient ‘Paper judges templates’ for two per child and ‘swords, shields and helmets’ templates enough for two per child. For younger children you may want to cut out the swords and shields templates before the session. Make a sample row of ‘Paper judges’ so that the children know what they are making.
How to make:
1. Fold your template into thirds as shown in the picture.
2. Carefully cut along the solid lines. You may need a grown-up to help you if the paper is very thick. Gently unfold the paper to reveal a ring of judges. Cut the ring so that you have a row of six judges.
3. You now need to make a second ring of judges so that you have twelve judges in total. Repeat steps 1 and 2. Either use glue or sticky tape to stick the two rows of judges together.
4. Colour in your judges and the swords and shields. Carefully cut out your swords, shields and helmets. Decide which of your judges are which and give them a sword, a shield and a helmet. Use the glue to stick their armour in place.
Optional - if you have two craft magnets, stick them on the hands of the two end judges. ‘Stick’ your paper judges to your fridge or a radiator to help you remember there were twelve judges, eleven men and one woman
