Who we are
Jenny Shrimpton, a creative writer and mother of three, has taught children in a church setting for over twenty years. Jenny is an accredited Minister with CiC International, an individual member of the Evangelical Alliance and a member of the Association of Christian Writers.
Jenny grew up in South East London as a minister’s daughter. Her father, Hugh Osgood, led various churches before fulfilling a number of inter-church roles.
Having moved north in 2001, Jenny, her husband and three children now live in a town in Northumberland. In between looking after the family Jenny has worked for the NHS as a radiographer and an ultrasonographer.
The family loves the Northumberland countryside, especially the rugged, open scenery that forms the backdrop to Hadrian's Wall. However, Jenny also enjoys the contrast of a busy town, particularly when there is an opportunity to shop for retro bargains. The interior of her house is evidence that she finds even the smallest item irresistible.
Jenny began to develop The Bible Curriculum over ten years ago when she recognised an opportunity to teach the Bible to children in a new way.
When she is not writing stories, visiting children’s ministry teams or being a Mum Jenny is busy trying out new craft ideas. It has been her long-held belief that absolutely anything can be made out of cardboard, so long as you use enough glue.
Jenny is very grateful for those who have helped her with The Bible Curriculum. She is especially grateful to her children, who have made numerous cardboard objects, trialed newly-invented games and listened to countless half-written stories.
